This week marks my one-year anniversary and what a quick year it has been!
The last 12-months have been full of challenge, change and reward in equal measure. Particularly the last few months, supporting clients during a global pandemic, resulting in myself and the team adapting to our new home working arrangements. However, the great aspect of our role is that we can continue to provide pragmatic HR advice to clients wherever we are located.
My previous experience has mainly been within the Oil & Gas sector, with six years of service in my previous HR role. Following this period I was really looking forward to taking on a new challenge, and my decision to make the change to work in HR Consultancy and start my journey with Involve HR, has opened up new opportunities to widen my experience and work with new people.
One of the things I love about working in HR is that every day can offer something different and this is even more prominent whilst working with Involve HR in a consultancy setting when we work with a diverse range of clients, all seeking advice on various areas of HR. From support with HR policies and procedures, to assistance with Employee Relations matters. Most recently we have been helping to support businesses navigate their way through the pandemic and ensure they have been aware of the support available to them and their employees through the Government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.
I have been fortunate to not only work with a wide range of businesses but to also work with a great team of likeminded and supportive HR professionals. The team behind Involve HR and the work that goes into delivering great advice to our clients is the most rewarding aspect of my role. It’s great to have a team of people in the background, who all have different experiences, that I can phone to discuss a scenario and we can work together to provide the best solution we can, whilst having a bit of fun along the way!
Even though our work locations have all changed and the landscape in which businesses are operating is very different from last year, the teamwork at Involve and our approach to HR has remained consistent for businesses during this period. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year with Involve HR and I cannot wait to see what the next year brings.
